cucumber raita
barely hacked this super refreshing BON APPETIT recipe. just dropped the green onions to keep it extra cool for summer / pitta.
combine 1/2 a c of YOGURT, 1/2 a c of diced CUCUMBER, a couple tbsps of chopped CILANTRO and a 1/4 tsp of both CORIANDER and CUMIN.
many protein options like eggs, meat and nuts are heating but YOGURT is comparatively cool. the CUCUMBER is refrigerant and relieves thirst. CORIANDER and CILANTRO tame skin rashes and cold sores which are actually hot in nature. and CUMIN is digestive corrective which is only slightly heating.
